Ole Miss hosted Mississippi State Saturday night in the oldest series and most intense rivalry in SEC basketball. The Bulldogs avenged an earlier season home loss to the Rebels with a 66-56 win at The Pavilion in Oxford.
Ole Miss shot 38% from the floor with a large chunk of production coming off the bench, with KJ Buffen leading the way with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Devontae Shuler, the Rebels’ leading scorer, was held to just 4 points on 1-15 shooting. D.J. Stewart Jr. fired in 16 points and handed out a career-best 6 assists coupled with 4 rebounds, two steals and a block to lead Mississippi State.
