#1 Ole Miss proved why they are the now the top-ranked team in all the land Monday, dismantling the Texas Longhorns 8-1. It was the third top-10 win for the Rebels in three days, leaving the Rebels spotless leaving the State Farm College Baseball Showdown.
Ole Miss committed zero errors defensively, homered twice in the game, and scored 8 runs against a bewildered Longhorns squad. The Rebels punched the Longhorns in the mouth early and never stopped punching, adding three runs in the top of the 9th inning to pad their 5-1 lead, eventually winning the game by a final of 8-1.
